The magazine was founded in 1945 by Elliot Cohen, and the conference was presided over by Harvard professor Oscar Handlin. In 1898, it held its seventh annual meeting in Philadelphia. The collection contains a copy of the Publications of the AJHS No. 8, with an invitation card, a program, newspaper clippings, a list of attendees, and correspondence with Charles J. Cohen regarding the seventh annual meeting of the AJHS.
